Michael Jordan, also known as “MJ,” is widely regarded as the greatest basketball player of all time. Born in Brooklyn, New York, on February 17, 1963, Jordan grew up in Wilmington, North Carolina, where he developed a love for basketball. He played college basketball at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he won a national championship in 1982 and was named the NCAA College Player of the Year in 1984.

Jordan was drafted third overall by the Chicago Bulls in 1984 and quickly established himself as one of the most dominant players in the NBA. He won his first NBA championship with the Bulls in 1991, and went on to win five more championships with the team in 1992, 1993, 1996, 1997, and 1998. Jordan was also a five-time NBA MVP, a 10-time scoring champion, and a 14-time NBA All-Star.
